We are pleased to announce that Debbie Delaney, Principal Consultant at CBi, has recently achieved admission to the Register of Certificated Users for the Kirton Adaptation-Innovation Inventory (KAI). To date, Debbie is the only person in China certificated to administer and use this powerful psychometric tool and it is a key part of the Innovation Workshops offered through China Bridge.

What is the KAI? KAI measures style of problem solving and creativity and is used to make informed choices about:

· who is the best person to work on various parts of a project
· when to emphasize the strengths of different people on the team
· what kinds of resources to bring in from outside the team
· where we as individuals or as a team are likely to have issues that could result in failure to meet our goals
· why we need to switch our behaviors to align our styles to match certain problems
· how to approach problem-solving, decision-making, and change management more effectively

In the Innovation Workshops, the participants use information highlighted in the KAI to develop skills, insights, and habits that lead to the generation and implementation of better new ideas. That is, new ideas that add value for the customer as well as support company growth and innovation. The participants are asked to come to the workshop with a problem or challenge in mind they will work together to solve during the workshop. To find that solution, they review the basic principles and cultural influences related to creativity. They identify their own creative style and explore the implications of that style on their approach to problem solving and team work. They apply a comprehensive process for prioritizing the best actions to take to achieve their innovation goals. And, they practice well-known problem solving methods to develop the most effective solutions for their chosen challenge.

At the end of this workshop the participants are able to:

· Generate creative thoughts and actions related to the strategic direction of their company
· Cultivate inspirational ideas into clear solutions for customer needs
· Build a framework for nurturing and aligning ideas that support organizational goals
